Stenciled Birthday Cookies

If you have followed my "cookie journey" for any time at all...you know that I am all about the SIMPLE cookies...in fact my motto is "KISS - Keep it Simple Stupid"  While I love me a beautifully decorated cookies, and sometimes I crave the challenge of spending hours on a cookie set, sometimes, I just want to KISS it and be done with it.

Not that these cookies are any less important...or that any less love went into them, it is just that when you are making cookies to feed a crowd at a party, or the customer is looking to have cookies, but keep the cost down...KISS cookies are the way to go.

Thankfully, by best friend designs and sells stencils for cookies...so KISSING these cookies we super duper easy!

These Stenciled Birthday Cookies could not be easier!

Party in Your PJs #70

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!

I am not sure what the weather is like in your neck of the woods...but is is crazy beautiful here.  It has been in the 70-80's for over a week...that , my friends is what I consider the perfect temperature.  I am in full on baseball mode right now....I am a HUGE crazy BIG fan of the Kansas City Royals...and if they are on TV, which they are most every day...I am watching them!  I am reading the sports pages on the Internet..downloading baseball apps on my phone, watching "Quick Pitch" in the morning before work...How did I become THAT person?  The Royals on on tonight, first pitch at 7:10....so...well...I will be watching them ...while trying to finish up cookies, promoting this party and oh yeah...figuring out what to feed my "boys" for dinner.

Party in Your PJs #69

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!

Schools in my area are starting back to school today.  Collin has been out of school for two years now, and I will confess that I miss the 'back to school" excitement...just a little.  The shopping for new clothes, the search for the perfect backpack...fun times. Collin and I spent some time this past weekend, wondering the school supply isles at the store....such memories.

I hope you all had a wonderful week...are you ready to party?

Moroccan Stool Hack

If you follow my blog, you know that Mr. Cookie Puzzle likes to bring home "stuff". He does a lot
of clean up jobs and often brings stuff home.

A few weeks ago, I came home, and his truck was full of stuff and he said it was all headed to the dump the next morning.  As I was walking by, a cute little stool caught my eye, and I pulled it off the truck.

Mr. Cookie Puzzle was puzzled, WHY would I save that stool, it was old and UGLY!  I told him I wanted to "re-do" it, but he was still skeptical.

Tell me what you think, was this worth saving?

Moroccan Stool Hack

It was small...and painted a very ugly off white...and the top...OH MY...the top was covered with a vinyl fake green and cream colored marble..it was terrible...but I saw a treasure in there.

I jumped on the Internet and doing a search landed me THIS!

Moroccan Stool Hack

The stool is no longer available at the online store, but the link I shared is from a Pin on Pinterest that I saved, the price tag was $325...Mr. Cookie Puzzle was sold...do it he said!

So I did!

I started by stripping the paint,  I had never stripped anything before, so another Internet search lead me to a product that could be used inside, which I wanted, since it is so hot here and wanted to work inside.

This is the product that I used, and I loved it.  It smelled great, did not require the use of heavy chemical gloves and it worked great....I started working on Friday night.

By Saturday afternoon, this is what I had.

After all of the paint was removed, I took it outside and gave it a quick sanding with a palm sander.

It was at THIS point, that MR. Cookie Puzzle came home and loved it...he wanted to seal it, and call it a day...HMMM...ok...we will see who won that battle!

Yep...I won!  I love how it turned out...and now it is has a forever home in our living room

I have since moved it do a different place, and accessorized it a little more, but still love it.

So...the lesson learned here...it be daring...try something new...you just might make something beautiful.

Party in Your PJs #68

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!

It is a beautiful day here in Central Missouri....beautiful blue skies...80 degree weather...the only thing that is NOT beautiful or perfect is that I had to work all day, then rush home for a training meeting after work...so sad that I could not be outside enjoying it..BUT...the silver lining...is that I do have a good steady job...which allows me to pay my bills...and I do enjoy what I do and my co-workers....so SILVER LINING people...always remember the SILVER LINING!

I hope you all had a wonderful week...are you ready to party?

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Butterfly Cancer Ribbon Cookies

I had the honor last week to make Birthday Cookies for a Cancer Survivor.  The customer had requested cookies, and she told me the birthday girl loved butterflies and was a cancer survivor, and other then that...do what I wanted.

It took me all of 2 minutes to send her a email with a suggestion.  I have had this cutter for YEARS and have never had the opportunity to use it...she loved it...and I loved making them!

Butterfly Cancer Ribbon Cookies

How perfect is this idea?  A Pink Cancer Awareness Ribbon with Butterfly Wings on the side?

Butterfly Cancer Ribbon Cookies

The cookie design is from Tami Rena Cookies and the cutter is from Cristin's Cookies.

Butterfly Cancer Ribbon Cookies

I am happy to report that my customer loved them, I hope the birthday girl did also.  I can not wait to make more of these in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month...we always have a bake sale at work, and I am sure that these will be a hit!
