Algebra Cookies

After taking over a year off from doing cookies when we built our house, I am finally and slowly getting back into taking cookie orders.  Confession....it feels great!

One of my loyal customers sent me a request for cookies that I have never done before!

Her daughter got an "A" in College Algebra...she had NEVER gotten an "A" in math before...and was so excited and proud of her, and wanted to give her cookies.

We put our head together and came up with these.

Algebra Cookies

Keep
Calm
and conquer
ALGEBRA

Each cookie had a different algebra equation (which I HAD to Google, because Math is NOT my strong suite).

Algebra Cookies

She was happy with the cookies, and she sent me an email saying her daughter loved them too.

That's what it is all about, right?  Happy Customers!  I might be a little out of practice and my cookies may not be perfect...but my only goal, is to make customers happy.  SCORE!

Have a blessed day...and a happy tomorrow!

Mini Chocolate Covered Oreos

Chocolate Covered Oreos are a quick and simple way to dress up your favorite sandwich cookies!

Mini Chocolate Covered Oreos

I have become totally addicted to molds from SpinningLeaf!  I am able to bring a "wow" treat to potlucks, parties and get togethers, simply and they always are the hit of the party.

Mini Chocolate Covered Oreos

For these I used their Standard Mini Sandwich Cookie Mold, which is the perfect little bite of heaven!  I love that you can dress these up or leave them plain.  Use a colored chocolate and a molded chocolate topper, or drizzle them with colored chocolate like I did.  You can customize them for any occasion!

If you are new to sandwich molds, I highly recommend trying SpinningLeaf, and invest in some of their plain molds....you will love them....they are very high quality, and simple to use.  If you are feeling adventurous, they have stunning mold for every occasion!  I am really wanting to try some of their flower molds and they have the cutest molds for Fourth of July.

Mini Chocolate Covered Oreos

For your next treat...why not make chocolate covered Oreos....I am sure they will be a hit!

Have you made these before?  Do you find them as addicting as I do?  Do you find yourself hording colored chocolate like me?  Sound off...I love to hear your thoughts on this!

Homemade Decorated Dog Treats

Last week I shared that I made homemade dog treats with you. Today, I wanted to show you how to kick those treats up a notch!

At heart, I am a cookie decorator, it is my passion, it is what I love to do.  Sadly, when we started the adventure of building our home, decorating cookies got put on the back burner.

Now that we are moved in and settled, with my own cookie/craft room, I might add, I am slowly getting back to doing what I love.

Well, last week when I made the treats for the dogs, using cookie cutter, I wanted to "decorate" them also.

Soo.....I did!

Homemade Decorated Dog Treats

Now, they are not as fancy as my normal decorated treats, but Lupin and Tyson loved them just the same.

I normally decorated cookies with icing, and I am sure the boys would have loved that, but that was not really the best option for dogs.  So, I did a little Internet search and found the perfect solution.

Egg paint!

My boys love eggs..so it worked out perfectly!

To make egg paint you need:

egg yolk
1 tsp water
food coloring

For each color you want to make, put one egg yolk, water and food coloring in a small bowl, mix to combine.  Paint this mixture onto the UNBAKED cookies, then bake as directed.

Once baked, they get shiny and beautiful, or at least the boys thought they were!

You could also use this egg paint to decorate human cookies, same recipe...and same results.  Honestly, it really does not add any flavor, just a little pretty to the cookies.

Have you made dog treats for your dogs?  What recipe do you use.  Do they love them more then store bought?
