From Drab to Fab: Wall Clock Transformation

I needed a clock for my cookie/craft room.  I could not find one that I liked, so I transformed an old one I had from our old house.

Isn't she a beauty?  NOT!  I am not sure why I ever purchased this clock, but it would not look good in my cookie/craft room, which is full of bright and fun colors.  So...I busted out some chalk paint and craft paper and transformed it from Drab to Fab!

It was a simple and easy transformation.  I took apart as much as I could, which was basically just removing the front cover and the glass.  I could not figure out how to remove the hands though.  My plan originally was to use a cute paper on the face of the clock, but when I could not remove the hands, I went to plan B, which was to just paint the face.  I chose a creamy ivory color for the face and a bright turquoise for  the outside cover.  For the numbers, I just cut out some puzzle pieces for the 12, 3, 6 and 9, bright pink looked great! I was originally going to paint the hands also, but the black hands worked well.

So there you go...an old Drab clock, a little paint and craft paper, and I have  Fab clock for my cookie/craft room

Stuff He Brought Home Vol.4

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Vol.4 of Stuff He Brought Home!

This is a series I do each week here on the blog, showing you, well, STUFF HE BROUGHT HOME!
He, is Mr. Cookie Puzzle...and he brings home A LOT of stuff...some wicked cool...some odd...some totally unique, and some stuff, like this weeks item, has me scratching my head.

This week, I will admit, I am not loving what he brought home.  Actually, he did not bring it home THIS week, it has been here for awhile.  So...what is it...SNOW SHOES!

Yep...Snow Shoe....old...falling apart Snow Shoes!  And...because I am super flexible and know how to pick my battles, they are hanging in my living room.

They have seen better days..I believe some "parts" are missing, and they look well worn..but hey...everyone needs a pair of snow shoes...right?

I am sure they will come in handy next winter when we get 24 inches of snow and I need to get to the trading post for more flour and a letter from my mom out west...LOL!

I know it is a common theme here...but once again, I have no idea where they came from, how old they are or if they have any value.  Mr. Cookie Puzzle just found them, thought they were "cool" and brought them home...cause that is what he does.

So...that is that...What He Brought Home....Old Falling Apart Snow Shoes!

If you have any information about this piece and want to share, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time....

Medical School Cookies

A loyal customer of mine sent me a request for cookies to celebrate a friend getting into medical school.

Medical School just blows my mind! To have the dedication to go to school for almost 10 years to learn your profession is something to be proud of, and to be celebrated.

The customer sent me a picture of cookies that she wanted, this happens a lot.  With the internet, customer often search for cookies and send me pictures of their requests. Sometimes we work together to modify the cookies to match their personal taste and often I modify them to meet my skill level.  This time...I did not try to re-invent the cookies...I pretty much just made them as pictured.  A huge thank you to Janis Bakes for these simple yet cute cookies..you truly inspired me!

Simple hearts with EKG lines (?) on them!

Medical School Cookies

Stuff He Brought Home Vol.3

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Vol.3 of Stuff He Brought Home!

This is a series I do each week here on the blog, showing you, well, STUFF HE BROUGHT HOME!
He, is Mr. Cookie Puzzle...and he brings home A LOT of stuff...some wicked cool...some odd...some totally unique.

This week...another item that I actually like!  Maybe next week I will share one of the "What is that? and WHY did you bring it home!" things he brought home!

But for today...we have a beautiful old Mrs. Butter-Worth Syrup Bottle.

I have no idea how old t is, as I can find no date or markings on it.

The label does have some damage...but mostly intact.  Look...5 cents off the regular price of this bottle!  What is the price?  Well...on the lid it is marked $.64!  That is right...$.64 for a bottle of syrup!  Heck syrup is way more then that, even at The Dollar Tree!

Hello Mrs. Butter-Worth...so happy to have you in the house and smiling at me each morning!

So...that is that...What He Brought Home....A Vintage Mrs. Butter-Worth Bottle!

If you have any information about this piece and want to share, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time....
