Party in Your PJs #66

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!

Ok ya'll....You will never guess where I am at this very minute?  You will never guess in a million years...Heck...even I am surprised at where I am at!

Right not...I am at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.....At a Concert!  Wish me luck....cause I am gonna need it...I am with 50,000 screaming teen and tween girls watching ONE DIRECTION!

What?  Yep....I am at the One Direction Concert right now!  A friend of Mr. Cookie Puzzle bought his daughter tickets to the concert, and offered ME his ticket if I would take her and a friend...cause I guess a One Direction concert is not something a 40+ dad wants to go to.  So...here I am....praying I survive!  Wish me luck!

I hope the party starts ok...cause I am not sure I will be able to check on it...if there is a problem..hang tight...I will get it fixed in the morning...when I wake up...if I wake up...Toodles!

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recently, while cleaning out my pantry, I found a HUGE bag of dried cranberries.  I went on a kick awhile ago, and they were my favorite snack.  I was telling my sister about my "find" and she shared with me her recipe for Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies...and they were so yummy...I am sharing them with you!

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are OMG good....soft and chewy, with that heavenly combination of the tart cranberries and smooth white chocolate!  I will confess...they did not last long in my house!

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
⅔ cup butter, softened
⅔ cup dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups quick oats
1 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup dried cranberries
⅔ cup white chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until light and fluffy.  Add eggs, mixing well.  Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.  Add butter mixture to flour mixture in several additions, mixing well after each addition.  Gently stir in cranberries and white chocolate chips.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls, I used a medium cookie scoop, onto ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool on wire racks.

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!  So....I woke up late this morning...UGH!  So...rather then spending the rest of the day "behind" the ball...I just texted my boss and took the day off!  I am so blessed to work for such amazing bosses and company!  We went to Subway for lunch, hit Walmart and then the local thrift store!  I did not find much there really..but Mr. Cookie Puzzle did...he has a hard time walking way from "stuff"...me...I am a little on the picky side.  We we got home...he took off for the ball game and I made some banana bread and did a little painting...so...pretty relaxing and much needed day of doing pretty much nothing..we all need that sometimes...am  right ladies?

Stuff He Brought Home Vol.5

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Vol.5 of Stuff He Brought Home!

This is a series I do each week here on the blog, showing you, well, STUFF HE BROUGHT HOME!
He, is Mr. Cookie Puzzle...and he brings home A LOT of stuff...some wicked cool...some odd...some totally unique, and some stuff, like this weeks item, has me scratching my head.

Once again this week, this is an item that I am not totally in love with.  Mr. Cookie Puzzle brought this home years ago, not sure where he got it...or WHY he decided to bring it home...but here it is..in all it's weird glory!

WHAT THE HECK IS IT?  Well...It's is a Knight's Suit of Armor Head...Duh!  Don't you have one in your house?

I will admit, it does have some cool details...but really....WHY...just WHY?

This does have a function though...not just a weird conversation piece...oh no...this serves a purpose...can you guess what it is?

It is a ICE BUCKET!  Because, well...every women just longs for an Ice Bucket that is shaped like a Knight's Head...am I right Ladies?

Lord help me!

I am not sure if I have told you this before...but the STUFF he brings home...he wants them on display...out and about for all to see and "enjoy"  This beauty is on the breakfast bar, and in it is NOT ice, but the dog harnesses and leashes.  So, I guess it does server a purpose, but honestly, I would gather store them in a cute basket or box..not a knights head ice bucket...but whatever, I learned long ago to pick my battles.

So...that is that...What He Brought Home....A Knight's Head Ice Bucket!

If you have any information about this piece and want to share, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time....

Party in Your PJs #64

Welcome to Party in Your PJs!

Happy Tuesday!  Ya'll...it is HOT here...I mean HOT HOT HOT...like the heat index is like 105 here today....I don't do HOT...like even a little....I dream of living in a location that is between 70-80 degrees year around...with no humidity.  Ugg...it just takes your breath away..just walking from my office to my truck has me all hot and wet and grouchy!  YUCK YUCK YUCK!  It is somewhat tolerable if you are dressed for it...but for some reason my bosses frown on me wearing  tank tops and shorts with flip flops...what is up with that?

Ok......LET'S PARTY!

From Drab to Fab: Wall Clock Transformation

I needed a clock for my cookie/craft room.  I could not find one that I liked, so I transformed an old one I had from our old house.

Isn't she a beauty?  NOT!  I am not sure why I ever purchased this clock, but it would not look good in my cookie/craft room, which is full of bright and fun colors.  So...I busted out some chalk paint and craft paper and transformed it from Drab to Fab!

It was a simple and easy transformation.  I took apart as much as I could, which was basically just removing the front cover and the glass.  I could not figure out how to remove the hands though.  My plan originally was to use a cute paper on the face of the clock, but when I could not remove the hands, I went to plan B, which was to just paint the face.  I chose a creamy ivory color for the face and a bright turquoise for  the outside cover.  For the numbers, I just cut out some puzzle pieces for the 12, 3, 6 and 9, bright pink looked great! I was originally going to paint the hands also, but the black hands worked well.

So there you go...an old Drab clock, a little paint and craft paper, and I have  Fab clock for my cookie/craft room

Stuff He Brought Home Vol.4

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Vol.4 of Stuff He Brought Home!

This week, I will admit, I am not loving what he brought home.  Actually, he did not bring it home THIS week, it has been here for awhile.  So...what is it...SNOW SHOES!

Yep...Snow Shoe....old...falling apart Snow Shoes!  And...because I am super flexible and know how to pick my battles, they are hanging in my living room.

They have seen better days..I believe some "parts" are missing, and they look well worn..but hey...everyone needs a pair of snow shoes...right?

I am sure they will come in handy next winter when we get 24 inches of snow and I need to get to the trading post for more flour and a letter from my mom out west...LOL!

I know it is a common theme here...but once again, I have no idea where they came from, how old they are or if they have any value.  Mr. Cookie Puzzle just found them, thought they were "cool" and brought them home...cause that is what he does.

So...that is that...What He Brought Home....Old Falling Apart Snow Shoes!

If you have any information about this piece and want to share, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time....

Medical School Cookies

A loyal customer of mine sent me a request for cookies to celebrate a friend getting into medical school.

Medical School just blows my mind! To have the dedication to go to school for almost 10 years to learn your profession is something to be proud of, and to be celebrated.

The customer sent me a picture of cookies that she wanted, this happens a lot.  With the internet, customer often search for cookies and send me pictures of their requests. Sometimes we work together to modify the cookies to match their personal taste and often I modify them to meet my skill level.  This time...I did not try to re-invent the cookies...I pretty much just made them as pictured.  A huge thank you to Janis Bakes for these simple yet cute cookies..you truly inspired me!

Simple hearts with EKG lines (?) on them!

Stuff He Brought Home Vol.3

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Vol.3 of Stuff He Brought Home!

This is a series I do each week here on the blog, showing you, well, STUFF HE BROUGHT HOME!
He, is Mr. Cookie Puzzle...and he brings home A LOT of stuff...some wicked cool...some odd...some totally unique.

This week...another item that I actually like!  Maybe next week I will share one of the "What is that? and WHY did you bring it home!" things he brought home!

But for today...we have a beautiful old Mrs. Butter-Worth Syrup Bottle.

I have no idea how old t is, as I can find no date or markings on it.

The label does have some damage...but mostly intact.  Look...5 cents off the regular price of this bottle!  What is the price?  Well...on the lid it is marked $.64!  That is right...$.64 for a bottle of syrup!  Heck syrup is way more then that, even at The Dollar Tree!

Hello Mrs. Butter-Worth...so happy to have you in the house and smiling at me each morning!

So...that is that...What He Brought Home....A Vintage Mrs. Butter-Worth Bottle!

If you have any information about this piece and want to share, I would love to hear from you.

Until next time....
